On March 19, IDEC GROUP IBERICA organized a strategic visit to the PUERTO SECO DE ANTEQUERA, bringing together the port communities of Malaga and Algeciras, as well as major players in the logistics sector and local institutions. This initiative aims to reinforce Andalusia’s position as a key logistics hub in Europe.
A project at the heart of strategic infrastructures
Located at a key crossroads of road, rail and sea routes, Puerto Seco de Antequera plays a key role in the development of the region’s logistics infrastructure. It offers significant potential for improving the competitiveness of supply chains and attracting new economic players.
A conference on the logistics challenges facing the Andalusian region
Ahead of the tour of the park, the event kicked off at the Antequera Hills Hotel with a speech by Manuel Barón (Mayor of Antequera), followed by Paul Lafargue and Maïté Palomino (Sales Director and Development Director, IDEC GROUP IBERICA), who highlighted the strategic role of the Puerto Seco de Antequera for the regional economy and its positioning as a benchmark logistics center in Europe.
The presidents of the ports of Malaga and Algeciras, Carlos Rubio and Gerardo Landaluce, together with Ignacio Álvarez Ossorio (Managing Director of the Public Ports Agency of Andalusia), emphasized the importance of this infrastructure in optimizing logistics flows and boosting the competitiveness of companies in both port communities.
Other industry experts, including Onofre Sánchez (Managing Director of Red Logística de Andalucía), Felipe Romera (Director of Málaga Tech Park), and Ángel González (Director of Institutional Relations and Communications at Ontime), shared their views on the evolution of the logistics sector. They emphasized the role of dry ports in modernizing supply chains and their impact on regional logistics efficiency.

A strategic commercialization in progress
Phase 1 of the Port Sec d’Antequera, covering 37 divisible hectares, is currently being marketed. This strategic site offers a unique opportunity for companies wishing to establish themselves at the heart of a leading logistics hub, opening up new economic and logistics prospects on both a regional and international scale.
Ontime’s current project is a perfect illustration of the potential of the Antequera dry port. Its development confirms the attractiveness of this platform for companies in the sector, consolidating its key role in Andalusia’s logistics future.
With this initiative, IDEC GROUP IBERICA is actively helping to shape the future of logistics in Spain, by fostering synergies between key players and promoting innovative, high-performance infrastructures.
