On June 13, 2025, the City Council of Antequera, under the leadership of its Mayor Manuel Barón, formalized a strategic partnership between Puerto Seco de Antequera and Málaga Tech Park, in the presence of Carolina España, Regional Minister for Economy, Finance and European Funds of the Junta de Andalucía.
Also attending the event were:
- José Ramón Carmona, third secretary of the Andalusian Parliament Bureau
- Antonio García Acedo, territorial delegate
- Felipe Romera, Director of Málaga Tech Park
- The municipal government team of Antequera
This alliance aims to position Puerto Seco de Antequera —an international multimodal logistics platform— as a convergence point for logistics, innovation, industry, and technology.
Resulting from coordinated work between public institutions and private partners, this unprecedented partnership will:
- Attract innovative and industrial companies
- Develop joint projects in research, training, digitalization and energy transition
- Connect logistics and technology through a shared ecosystem
- Strengthen the appeal of inland Andalusia, around Antequera
Strategically located at the intersection of major Andalusian transport axes (rail, road, dry port), Puerto Seco de Antequera reaffirms its role as a key hub for Southern Europe, with a new ambition: to become a hybrid, sustainable, and connected cluster.
Carolina España welcomed the project as a driver of sustainable and technological development for the region:
“This partnership embodies the industrial and logistics future of inland Andalusia, in line with the economic transformation goals promoted by the Junta.”
